A few pictures of Day 1 presentations, Day 2 workshop partners, final wrap up and judging in the penthouse. The days have been hard work both in participation and also digestion of everything else as well. A great deal of creativity put together in quite a ruthless program all very interesting. The joy of meeting new people who are equally committed to their creative journey is always good. I will introduce you to a few key people in following posts so you can explore.

Berlin 5 Gum Launch Party Germany

I am here in Berlin for the next three days invited by Wrigley who are launching a new chewing gum and they have asked Eley Kishimoto to be part of a synposium on the 5 senses. We are responsible for the keynote paper on "LOOK". We have worked hard on the paper and honestly I am a bit nervous as I have no idea what the audience is expecting from us. I will publish the paper here once delivered and also in the Workshop I will conduct tomorrow we will create a documentary film that also relates to the topic "LOOK". Possibly the first of many of "Dai Jobu" products. Still not finished needs the seat pad, front number plate with built in halogen, rear shocks need to b changed, get rid of the battery and front forks also need to be looked at. Would like to powder coat the frame black but that can wait. Finished for the end of summer....

Was a pleasure to be invited to the after party by the students of Antwerp who choose a suitably appropriate venue an old mans cafe at the front and a full on anything goes tranny shack at the back all sharing the same lovely bar couple. Andrea was sweet and introducing the idea that I should be a model for this forthcoming mens Paris fashion week as a big man?? I met Andre J the following afternoon obviously both sharing the same fascination of facial hair but obviously his more elegant, the girls from the party and a Welsh Flag in Brussels sun.

Not that I support this kind of celebrity culture but as a launch to a house that's business relies on rentals and parties it is not a bad start. I did not witness this but I was told that she had a drinking contest with the sponsor of the party the owner of Akvinta Voldka and necked 10 shots and later was too drunk to go to her own party. She seemed quite steady on departure....

Kim and I were slaves for a few days preparing the house for the Inaugural party with Penelope Cruz hosting the Hollywood Domino party. We are in a line of many other ambassadors to see and witness the value of this school on the walls in the main staircase there are phots of Colin Mcdowell, Vivienne Westwood, Zandra Rhodes, Jasper Conran, Mary Quant to name a few it is going to be a pleasure to be involved and experiment with the idea of progressive education linked closely to the actuality of the functioning British Industry.

Performed a lecture and visited a friend Alison Harvey who is now Head of Design at the University, I was very impressed with the facility and once again Alison's ambition for the school. We worked together in Singapore where she was the head of Design at Lassalle and I visiting professor for the school of fashion. It looks like we are trying to work something out here also, can't wait to get my hands on all this amazing equipment...

The House At.. Cannes First Visit Finished April 2009

We all went down to the House At Cannes which is another property to add to the House at business with Jason and test drove it for the first time before the launch in the forthcoming film festival where there are negotiations for Hollywood Domino Party, Hermes Lunch and the new Brad Pitt/Quentin Tarantino Film party currently going on. The Kids were happy to experience an try out the very cold Flash pool before all the stars had the chance.

A New Friend Paris Fashion Week

James Murphy founder of DFA records and LCD sound system. We met I think late one night in the Le Baron went back to Dan Ross's suite in Hotel D'Amour and somehow got into a fight together and he ended up with a black eye which I only discovered the next night at the decks where he was playing for the Open Ceremony party and I with a broken knee. I think he was slightly proud of his eye, I was slightly embarrassed and my knee is still playing up to this day so if we have to have a winner I think he won. It was a pleasure to meet and his wife and play together the following days...
