5 GUM Vision Lab MAKING SENSES 24th- 25th June 2009 Weekend Club Berlin As Part of the 5 GUM Vision Lab symposium, Mark Eley speaks and holds a workshop around the theme 'LOOK' Apologies for those non-German speakers amongst us, but all info below can be found via the event website, unfortunately no English translation as yet... www.5gum-visionlab.de LOOK: Eley Kishimoto Wakako Kishimoto / Mark Eley, London Wakako Kishimoto und Mark Eley aus London gründeten in den 90er Jahren das Label Eley Kishimoto. Der Titel „Modedesigner" greift für sie im Grunde genommen zu kurz. Das Designerduo bezeichnet sich selbst als „Surface Designer", also als Designer für Oberflächen jeglicher Art. Im Laufe ihrer Karriere und mit unterschiedlichen Partnern arbeiteten sie nicht nur an der Gestaltung und Erscheinung von Textilien und Schuhen, sondern auch an unterschiedlichen Objekten wie zum Beispiel Tapeten oder Automobilien. Regelmäßig unternehmen sie kreative Exkursionen in die Bereiche Architektur, Kunst oder Telekommunikation. Das Hauptaugenmerk und der unverwechselbare Stil von Wakako Kishimoto und Mark Eley zeigen sich insbesondere in den Damenkollektionen, deren farbenfrohe und außergewöhnliche Prints das Markenzeichen von Eley Kishimoto sind.
