WERK MAGAZINE

WERK No.17: ELEY KISHIMOTO
336 pages, Colour, approx 220mm x 305mm, Edition: 1000 copies.

UK-based Eley Kishimoto, is a global fashion and design company, primarily recognised for innovation in print. Founded by Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto, with the ambition of making the world a prettier place and a philosophy that does not succumb to trends and fads.

The collaboration with WERK uses archetypal Eley Kishimoto prints, a visual documentation of photographs, sketches, musings and combines this with the perfect-imperfect finishings that have become a signature of WERK.

Each issue is unique with its use of actual archive Eley Kishimoto materials; a bundle of 4 fabrics, on both the front and back of the book have been carefully constructed to create the cover. The fabrics from the back, have been folded over the spine, and secured to the front using staples and dress making pins, mimicking a 'textile work-in progress'.

Inside, is simply but meticulously directed; one's perception of actual fabrics is paralleled in the way that prints are laid out, and the whole issue provides a comprehensive incite into the workings and heart of Eley Kishimoto.
